In recent years, Chemical Industry Engineering Joint Stock Company (CECO) has consistently partnered with prestigious universities (School of Chemistry and Life Sciences - HUST, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering...) in educating students in chemical and engineering disciplines, bridging university theoretical knowledge with real-world enterprise implementation, helping students—especially in chemical and materials engineering—deepen their passion and understanding of their chosen careers.
On February 20, 2025, at Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (HUCE), CECO leadership, specialists, and lecturers of the Chemistry Division under the Faculty of Building Materials organized lecture sessions for students of class 66MSE1, majoring in Materials Engineering. The program was attended by Mr. Luu Ngoc Vinh - Chairman of the Board of Directors, Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Anh - General Director, Mr. Doan Manh Hung - Deputy Director of Technology Design & Investment Consulting Center, along with technical specialists.

Regarding project materials, they are broadly categorized into two major groups: Construction Building Materials and Process Equipment Fabrication Materials. Material selection directly influences structural and process performance. Given the extensive diversity of the materials market, selecting appropriate materials can be challenging. This raises the question of how to select materials that satisfy engineering parameters while embodying the architectural design and operational intent of the project.
Engineering projects utilizing appropriate, high-quality building materials achieve high structural stability, superior load-bearing capacity, and enhanced resilience against environmental stressors such as moisture, humidity, and temperature fluctuations. Moreover, high-grade materials significantly minimize future maintenance and repair expenditures. Conversely, substandard materials lead to frequent failures and rapid degradation, incurring substantial maintenance costs. High-quality material selection saves lifecycle costs and extends equipment longevity.
The modules delivered by CECO experts equipped students with comprehensive overviews of project materials (general fundamentals, material classification for structures and equipment...), material selection criteria in engineering design (structural characteristics, operating functions, technological parameters; durability, longevity, aesthetics; human and environmental safety; and fabrication/installation feasibility); and Emerging trends in industrial materials (eco-friendly, recyclable materials; advanced materials manufactured via nanotechnology, 3D printing, and smart materials; specialized project materials; lightweight high-strength materials with superior machinability and assembly properties...).
