On September 11, 2026, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union organized the 2026 Northern Region Trade Union Training Conference, featuring two key topics: digital transformation in trade union work and updates/guidance on implementing new legal documents regarding the rights and obligations of employees.

Attending the conference were Comrade Le Hoang, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, and Deputy General Director of Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem); Comrade Ho Thi Mai Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union; along with nearly 200 cadres who are Members of the Executive Committee, Members of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, and Executive Committee Members of grassroots trade unions in the Northern region.
Delivering lectures at the conference were Dr. Vu Duy Thuan from the Faculty of Automation and Artificial Intelligence, Electric Power University, and Dr. Do Ngan Binh, Professional Director of BCLAW Law Company Limited and Lecturer at the Consultation Center, Hanoi Law University.

In her opening remarks, Comrade Ho Thi Mai Huong, Vice President of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, emphasized that the training conference was part of the 2026 work program of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union, aimed at updating knowledge and enhancing the operational capabilities and professional skills of grassroots trade union officials.
In the context of digital transformation having an increasingly profound impact on the operations of enterprises and workers, innovating trade union operational methods, applying technology, and improving the efficiency of management and connection with union members have become increasingly essential requirements. Along with that, updating and mastering new legal regulations related to the rights and obligations of employees serves as an important foundation for trade union officials to effectively fulfill their role of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members and employees.
The conference also provided an opportunity for trade union officials at all levels to exchange experiences and share practical issues arising from operational realities at grassroots units, thereby contributing to elevating the quality of trade union activities in the coming time.
Updating Knowledge on Digital Transformation and Labor Law

At the conference, Dr. Vu Duy Thuan delivered a thematic session on “Digital Transformation in Trade Union Work”. The training content focused on equipping trade union officials with the knowledge and approach suited to digital transformation requirements, while opening up opportunities for applying technology in organizing, managing, and implementing trade union activities.

Next, Dr. Do Ngan Binh presented the topic “Guidance on Implementing New Legal Documents on Employee Rights and Obligations”. The session highlighted key considerations in updating and applying new legal provisions, helping trade union officials enhance their capacity to consult and support union members and employees, while better fulfilling their function of representing, caring for, and protecting the lawful and legitimate rights and interests of workers.

After each topic, participants spent time discussing, exchanging, and addressing practical challenges. Grassroots union officials shared difficulties encountered during practical operations, exchanging practical lessons on applying newly acquired knowledge to workplace situations.
Enhancing the Competence of Trade Union Cadres
With practical content closely aligned with current demands in trade union work, the training program contributed to enhancing the knowledge, skills, and awareness of grassroots trade union personnel. Consequently, union officials have gained a solid framework to innovate operational methods, boost technology adoption, and take greater initiative in representing, caring for, and defending the legitimate rights and interests of workers.

Through the program, trade union cadres were equipped with updated knowledge on digital transformation and emerging labor laws. These practical insights will significantly enhance operational effectiveness, fulfilling modern trade union requirements.
Under the motto “Innovation - Democracy - Solidarity - Development”, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union continues to focus its initiatives toward grassroots levels, elevating staff quality to safeguard the legal rights of all members.

Following the training session in the North, the Vietnam Chemical Industry Trade Union will proceed with the Southern Region training conference on September 24, enabling union officials across the entire system to continuously enhance their competencies.
