Under the theme of strategic development and partnerships for hydrogen infrastructure development in Vietnam, the Vietnam - Germany Hydrogen Workshop will take place on August 1 in Ho Chi Minh City.<\/p>\n

The event is organized by Vietnam ASEAN Hydrogen Club (VAHC) and German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) on the occasion of the German Delegation from Neuman & Esser Group visiting Vietnam. The head of the delegation is Ms. Stefanie Peters, Managing Director of Neuman & Esser, who is also a Member of the German National Hydrogen Council.<\/p>\n

The workshop aims to share experience in developing hydrogen<\/a> projects between Germany, international partners, and Vietnam to accelerate the growth of Vietnam's hydrogen industry.<\/p>\n

Mr. Le Ngoc Anh Minh, Chairman of VAHC Club, emphasized: Hydrogen plays a crucial role in overcoming the climate crisis. Decarbonizing the economy to achieve climate neutrality is one of humanity's greatest challenges over coming decades. This can be achieved by transitioning to renewable energy<\/a> and interconnecting energy, industry, construction, and mobility sectors.<\/p>\n

At the same time, power generation from renewable sources such as wind and solar is intermittent, necessitating reliable and cost-effective storage and transport options for large quantities of energy. Large-scale decarbonization can only succeed if these fundamental requirements are met. Hydrogen provides these capabilities in a near-ideal manner, while also serving as a basic feedstock or reactant in the chemical process industry.<\/p>\n

Mr. Minh noted that Vietnam possesses substantial solar and wind resources, presenting ideal conditions for green hydrogen production. Therefore, the workshop will address strategic hydrogen infrastructure planning and forming partnerships for hydrogen initiatives in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

The workshop will feature presentations from leading German hydrogen corporations and experts: Ms. Stefanie Peters will deliver insights on the German Hydrogen Strategy & Roadmap and cooperation prospects with Vietnam (green finance, technology transfer, hydrogen supply opportunities, etc.); Neuman & Esser Group will present their strengths in supporting hydrogen infrastructure and ASEAN regional projects alongside business orientations in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

On the VAHC side, Dr. Thomas Trung, Deputy General Director of VATEC Consulting, will present on Vietnam's hydrogen strategy, roadmap, and infrastructure proposals; VAHC Member Ms. Miho Nishida, Chief Representative of Kawasaki Vietnam, will present Japanese Hydrogen Innovations and Kawasaki Heavy Industries' applicable experience for Vietnam, accompanied by presentations from German and Vietnamese enterprises.<\/p>\n

The panel session discussing Hydrogen Business Opportunities in Vietnam will feature representatives from VAHC, GIZ, clean hydrogen off-takers, commercial banks, and green export credit insurance institutions.<\/p>\n

Discussions will center on key topics: Opportunities under the Vietnam National Hydrogen Strategy to 2030, vision to 2050; Hydrogen infrastructure development opportunities; Renewable power integration (wind, solar, biomass); Green financing channels; Marketing green hydrogen to domestic buyers, ASEAN, and the EU; and bilateral partnerships to execute green hydrogen projects in Vietnam.<\/p>\n

According to VAHC, the workshop outcomes will empower German and Vietnamese partners to collaborate on feasibility studies for hydrogen generation and consumption projects across chemical manufacturing, textiles, plastics packaging, and steel sectors, establishing pilot demonstration models for clean power generation and transportation.<\/p>\n

Currently, VAHC is finalizing a feasibility study on setting up a clean hydrogen demonstration plant to supply fuel-cell hydrogen buses and is actively negotiating financing and implementation with international partners.<\/p>\n

'We are conducting research and demonstration projects for clean hydrogen production to generate electricity, supply clean steam for manufacturing, and service zero-emission transport<\/em>' - Mr. Le Ngoc Anh Minh added.<\/p>\n
